A: Absolutely! 1-800MD is not insurance. We do not deny access to quality care because of pre-existing conditions.

Q: Can I get a consultation after hours or on weekends?
A: Yes. 1-800MD services are available 24/7.

Q: Are there any restrictions on how many times I can use 1-800MD?
A: No. As a member, you have access to unlimited telephone consults anywhere, anytime. You only pay the $10 copay for each instance.

Q: How are prescriptions filled?
A: If after consult with the physician, he/she decides that a prescription medication is indicated as part of your treatment, the doctor will electronically send the prescription to a local pharmacy of your choice.

Q: Are there any limitations as to what can be prescribed?
A: A 1-800MD physician has the ability (if medically appropriate) to prescribe a wide range of products. These include, but are not limited to, drugs such as antibiotics, antihistamines and maintenance medicines. Our physicians do not prescribe medications regulated by the Drug Enforcement Agency or those that pose a potential for abuse or addiction. And, 1-800MD physicians do not prescribe lifestyle drugs.

All physicians are independent providers and are fully credentialed. The credentialing process is performed by a national third party credentialing agency in accordance with the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and the Utilization Review Accreditation Committee (URAC) guideline. Credentialing includes a thorough review of medical licensure, training, education, work and malpractice history.

1-800MD provides fast and convenient access to quality medical care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 day a year throughout the United States.

1-800MD is an easily accessible and inexpensive alternative to non-emergent Emergency Room visits, Urgent Care Clinic visits or the inconvenience of traveling to a scheduled appointment with your Primary Care Physician (PCP), during and after normal business hours, from home, office or during travels.

NOTE: 1-800MD cannot prescribe medications to residents or those traveling in Oklahoma. However, they can still preform a consultation and advise on treatments.
